Attorney Benjamin L. Keime

Benjamin is an experienced civil litigator and trial attorney. He has tried complex cases in state and federal courts. He represents clients in a wide range of civil disputes including contracts, torts, real property, construction, fraud, government contracts, labor and employment, trademarks, patents, partnerships, breach of warranty, breach of fiduciary duty, defamation, and deceptive and unfair trade practices. Benjamin, who received an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, also provides outside general counsel services. In that role, Benjamin assists with corporate governance, labor and employment matters, and contract negotiations and drafting, among other things.

Prior to attending law school, Benjamin served on active duty in the intelligence branch
of the US Army. He deployed to Afghanistan where he planned and executed clandestine intelligence operations as part of a special operations task force.

Representative Matters

  • Represented developer of a large residential development in a lawsuit brought by the co developer/general contractor that involved affirmative claims and counterclaims from all parties. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the developer on all claims.
  • Represented C-level executive in case against former employer for breach of contract where the executive was at risk of losing out on millions of dollars in incentive bonuses due to his wrongful termination.
  • Represented a service-disabled veteran owned small business before the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals in dispute arising from the US Government’s failure to pay the company for personal protective equipment that was delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Stepping in after two prior lawyers, helped business owner quickly end years of litigation with his partner resulting in the business owner purchasing the partner’s interest in the business for a favorable sum.
  • Represented national general contractor at trial against former subcontractor and surety company in case involving defects and delays in the construction of 40-story mixed use tower in Miami.
  • Represented a private equity firm in a case against former partner for breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract.
  • Represented C-level executive in case against former employer for retaliation, slander, and breach of contract.
  • Represented athletic department executive at a Division I college in an NCAA investigation.
  • Represented well-known Miami Beach restaurant in a trademark infringement case.
